Here is a format for children to self review their year. Sheet 1 asks some questions that children might consider in writing their reviews. They can come up with others of their own. Sheet 2 and 3 are 2 versions of a template that children can write within. Suitable for all primary school children.

Children love to collect their friends (and teachers!) autographs at the end of the school year. Here are 14 examples of front covers and 14 examples of insert pages that children could use when making their own autograph books. Something for all the class to make them individual. Pages can be printed onto card or pasted onto thin card. Make 1 or 2 holes using a hole punch and attach a coloured ribbon or string for decoration.

A resource showing 11 colour photos of various activities or occupations. A useful resource for speaking and listening and conversations when learning to speak English. Sheet 1 shows the 11 photos. Sheet 2 lets pupils match the occupations to the words and discuss objects or equipment that might be associated with each activity or occupation.

Children will enjoy talking about these jobs or occupations and using their imagination. They can use these ideas to make a list of jobs they know or things they would like to do when they grow up. There are also 2 sheets to label or cut and match the pictures.

Children will enjoy using the colour pictures of food to help them write their lists. There are 2 pages for children to label the 12 foods or copy, cut and stick the matching pictures.

Write about what Sadie likes and dislikes. Write about what you and your best friend like. Write short descriptions and key words to describe your self and best friend.

A collection of activities related to health and well being. Make a list of what is kept in a Doctor’s Bag. Name, colour and label the pictures related to hospitals and doctors. Label the colour pictures. Make a Get Well card using this template or use as an idea for children to make their own.

3 worksheets to use with children preparing them for change and helping them to think about the experiences they have had this year and consider things to look forward to when moving on. Questions for children to think about include: What I am most proud of this year The subject I have enjoyed the most What things will stay the same next year Something I am looking forward to As an extension, make a class display by cutting out the boxes, once the children have filled them in, and making a large poster. Children could add their own illustrations.

5 worksheets based on the Senses - look, listen, touch, taste, smell. Each sheet has a different sense as it’s theme. Children can colour these in and discuss them. They can then create a doodle sheet of their own for one or more of the senses.

3 worksheets to support children with recognising and communicating their feelings. Sheet 1 - Children circle the happy face in each row. They draw a happy face and then complete the sentence - I feel happy when… Sheet 2 - The same as sheet 1 but children circle the sad faces Sheet 3 - Children circle the angry faces The faces are all drawn on different types of balls that children can name. Extend by asking children to draw faces on balloons with marker pens showing different expressions.

This is a speaking and listening activity and works well in pairs or small groups. There are 24 colour cards to cut out. Children discuss the cards and decide if the statements are positive or negative. They can then sort them into 2 sets. Can they change the negative statements into positive ones? Children will enjoy filling in one of these writing (or drawing) frames all about themselves. They can share these with their new friends or teacher when moving into a new class. The first page shows a worked example. Page 2 is a colour outline with suggested words added. The following 4 pages are writing frames using different colours. The final page is the writing frames in black and white.
